FOR HOSPITALIZED CHILDREN Children's Holiday Magic Project Seeks Songs & Stories For CD - By August 25 August 14, 2013  (VOXtra) - The Children’s Holiday Magic Project (CHMP) and GelderHead Audio Productions is seeking recorded songs and stories from voice actors to complete the 11th edition of Holiday Magic, a Gift for Children of all Ages, 2013 - a CD featuring music and a holiday tale that will be distributed to hospitalized kids and their siblings at children’s hospitals during the holiday season. "Those wishing to submit their high-quality recordings of songs or stories with a Holiday theme are encouraged to be creative with original or existing material to help make the children’s time in the hospital during the Holidays a brighter experience," says project founder and organizer Jeff Gelder. ANNUAL PROJECT FOR CHILDREN The annual CD features an original holiday tale, and interwoven are songs and stories in several languages that over the years have included English, Spanish, Italian and Cantonese. These are submitted by talents in the voice over and music communities. Past talent have included Broadway actress and singer Ashley Fox-Linton, renowned Hollywood voice-over talent Marc Graue, award-winning actress and singer Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura-Star Trek) and her actress sister Marian Michaels, Sam Bass of KyXy 96.5fm, plus many more. Jeff Gelder, owner of GelderHead Audio Productions and the volunteer Board of Directors distributed 6,000 CDs to 26 hospitals in 2012, and hope to increase that number to 10,000 for 2013. LIVE PERFORMANCE, TOO Jeff and his volunteers ‘play Santa’ annually at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego by delivering CDs to patients room to room. See this video from last year's delivery ... The first Holiday Magic CD was produced in 2003 when Gelder was tasked to come up with a project for a Landmark Education class that would enhance the community and ultimately take on a life of its own. That’s exactly what has happened. "We have requests from hospitals around the country and we field inquiries about the CD all year long,” says Gelder.
