Yes, it's so easy to get stuck in habits. Even ones we think (or are told) are good. Like always standing up at the mic - and of course, making sure it can't hear background noises. Well, recently, to tackle storyboard and video sync in a hurry I moved the mic to the front of the Mac, stayed sitting, or sprawled more like, and just went for it - like you say, Joe.

It was liberating!

The old way of walking over to the mic had been winding me up in just the wrong way. For sure, I now have to take steps to prevent machinery noise, and sometimes still need to stand if it's to be shouty or physical - but most times it feels good, saves time, and is actually returning more gigs.
