VOICE OVER AWARDS
Deadlines Near To Enter - For Free - The 'One
Voice Awards' Competitions in USA and UK
May 28, 2021

(VOXtra) - Last year, did you record a voice over or demo that you're particularly proud of? Maybe you've got several in mind, in different VO genres.

If you're based in the U.S., your deadline is June 13 to enter them - at no charge - in a new voice over awards program: the One Voice Awards USA.

You may submit nominations for up to 10 of the 36 award categories (see categories and entry specs here).

And 10-time Academy Awards announcer Randy Thomas (pictured) will live announce the One Voice Awards USA ceremony - where winners will be announced and honored - on August 28 at the Hyatt Regency Airport Hotel in Dallas.

The competition and ceremony are part of the One Voice Conference USA, a hybrid online and in-person event in Dallas, August 26-29 (see conference details).

Meanwhile, UK-based voice actors have until June 6 to enter the third annual One Voice Awards UK competition (see categories and entry specs here).

And winners for the UK competition will be announced at the black-tie One Voice Awards UK ceremony August 21 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Docklands Hotel, in London.

Like the USA event, the UK awards competition is part of the One Voice Conference UK, August 19-22 in London (details).

FOR 'AMAZING PERFORMANCES'

"Our One Voice Awards allows us to bring something to the industry to recognize all the amazing performances that voice artists make," notes Hugh Edwards (pictured) who with Peter Dickson are co-founders of the Gravy for the Brain voice over training organization.

"For us, it's about giving back to the people who deserve it," he adds, "which is why it's free to enter - and you don't have to pay for the awards if you win."

Yet competition entries are not restricted to voice actors.

"Whether it's industry legends, new talent, casting directors, agents, sound engineers or - well, anyone in the voiceover industry at all, we want to award excellence and perpetuate brilliant work, whether it's going on in front of the mic or behind it," say the competition organizers.

There's even a Blooper category, as well as several categories open for public vote.

The competition's judging is software based, and names of the independent industry judges will be announced after the awards have been decided.
